I use an array of therapeutic skills, including, active listening, validation, challenging unhealthy patterns, and insight-building to help you work through their distress, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen their psychological health, and to help you learn skills and strategies to improve your quality of life.
Quality of life is a multifaceted concept that refers to an individual’s overall well-being, encompassing their physical, mental, and social health as well as factors and aspects of participating in everyday activities. Therefore, recognizing improvement in ones quality of life will look different for each client, and may include, learning internal strategies to manage anxiety and negative thinking, managing distressing and unpleasant feelings, improving relationships, healthy stress management, making behavioral changes, or effectively managing symptoms of a mental health diagnosis.
I work with clients from many backgrounds who experience difficulty in everyday life. My practice focuses primarily on working with adults and older adults.
I rely on information I learn from you about your concerns and reasons for therapy, and we collaboratively develop a treatment plan that fits you.
My therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in an integrative framework, which focuses on drawing on from various therapeutic approaches (see below) to help you learn tools and skills to help you improve your overall psychological health and well-being. I will work with you to individualize a treatment plan, by tailoring the therapeutic intervention to meets your individual needs to meet your therapy goals.
I have extensive training in a variety of evidence-based treatments.
